During my mid-twenties, I realized the importance of good fashion sense. Wearing T-shirts and jeans every day just don't cut it for a full-fledged woman. In this stage of life, we need to dress to impress and have success. A good fashion style is also a great way to express oneself, boost self-esteem, and to have some fun.
Here are some basic outfits every woman should have when they reach the mid-20s to early 30s. And make sure to buy pieces that suit your body type.
1. Job Interview Outfit
You would probably need more than one job interview outfit so you can mix and match. The twenties and the thirties is a time when young women look for their dream job so it's important to have a couple of job interview outfits that don't only look beautiful, professional and put together but also comfortable as well.
Office skirts can be from pencil skirts to midi skirts as long as they can match with the perfect blouse and a blazer. Or skip the three-piece outfit with a dress such as a wrap-around or a day to night dress, perfect for after-work drinks.
If you don't want to wear a hemline, pantsuits or a slack and blouse ensemble are still essentials.
Finally, match your clothes with jewelry and bags. Once you get your dream job, buy more clothes suited for your workplace!
2. The Weekend Day outfit
Wear something comfortable and flattering. Go beyond the shirts, jeans, shorts. Go for some sundresses, feminine blouses, chinos, and even skorts so to get out of the humdrum of just wearing shorts or skirts. Save the sparkly wear for the night which brings me to...
3. The Weekend Night outfit
The outfit that isn't typically just for the casual date night but also fitting for the friends' night out. Wear something, sparkly, sexy but still comfortable. Heels are still a go-to but I recommend if you girls go bar hopping or will do a lot of walking, wear sneakers that can still match with your dress or skirt.
4. Cocktail Party
There are different lovely types of cocktail dresses such as mini or midi dresses. Just make sure the hemlines and necklines are appropriate for the setting. And never make the mistake of wearing floor-length gowns.
Beyond the hemlines, there are also great selections of sleek trouser and blouse ensembles.
For accessories, pick one or two stand-out pieces of jewelry. And bring a clutch, not an oversized bag, for your make-up and other essentials.
5. The Workout Outfit
At your age, you have to realize that an old shirt and shorts may be derailing you of your fitness goals. Invest in some quality clothes that fit in your workout. For yoga, invest in some leggings and a crop top. When you like to run, buy some lightweight sweats. Just make sure you choose the right clothes with the right type of fabrics for your workout.
Those are some basic outfits to start with your fashion journey. After that, you can forge on to finding out the best style for you on other important occasions!
